Can you believe it’s been 365 days already? The year 2017 has finally come to its close and we’re gearing up for another year of God’s grace. While everyone else is on social media repeating “I’m cutting everyone off…” and “New year, new me…,” I’m saying, “Let go, let God!” Let go of those grudges, sis. Let go of the goals that didn’t get met yet and the weight you didn’t get to lose. Let go of the resentment. Let go of the hurt, the pain, the broken promises, and the disappointments. Let God have His way.
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
Allow God to bestow His grace and mercy in your life. Allow God the room to bring everlasting healing in every aspect of your life where you’ve felt hurt. Give God your past and don’t take it back. I promise you there’s nothing left for you back there. The direction that God has you going from here on out is far greater than anything you could have ever imagined back then.
This year, let go and let God have His way in your life that you may live fully in the purpose that He has for you. Allow God to use you as an empty vessel to not only bless your life, but others as well. You are the daughter of the highest. Know and understand that God has complete control over the things that are happening in your life. There is a purpose in every situation you go through, good or bad. Let go of the reigns and allow God to guide your every move. Stop trying to figure everything out for yourself. It’s up to you to be intentional about your faith in Him. Let this year be the year you let go and trust in Him wholeheartedly.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
This awesome shirt I’m wearing that inspired this message was sent to me by The KRIVE Shop. The Krive Shop is an online apparel store dedicated to all things that involve embracing yourself & artistically demonstrating the unique voice that is inside each & every one of us. Here are a few words from the owner of The KRIVE Shop and why you should take the time out to purchase from this small black owned business.
How and why did you getting started with The KRIVE Shop?
“The KRIVE Shop aims to uplift through the messages on its apparel. We were founded in Chicago, Illinois by Karla Rivers Johnson, who attended Columbia College Chicago as a game design major initially, but after taking a graphic design course, she knew that’s what she really wanted to do. After her father found out she switched majors, he put her up to her first job which was designing shirts for his organization’s annual convention. The shirts were a hit and it was there where she found her passion for making apparel.
The word “KRIVE” is taken from her name, Karla RIVErs. It was a signature that she would always sign on all her artwork in the past when she would doodle in sketchbooks. She stuck with the name when naming her business. ”
What do you want your customers to feel when they receive your products?
“We want our customers to feel empowered and uplifted and to be proud of who they are. We strive to give people a voice. And when they receive their KRIVE product in the mail, we want them to feel that they are getting quality apparel every single time.”
