Mission Monday

So, it’s Monday….most people’s least favorite day of the week.  At this point, you’re either laying in bed contemplating on what excuse to use in order to get out of work or you’re swallowing the huge pill labeled “ADULT” and proceeding to go about your day.  As you scroll your timeline, I’m more than sure you see a lot of “Motivation Monday” posts on Instagram and Facebook, but do they really motivate you?  Are you really going about your day with an extra boost of energy ready to conquer the world after reading it or is it just worth a quick double tap?

What’s your mission today?  What goals do you plan on crushing?  What giants do you plan on slaying today and everyday afterward?

I read the following in my devotional this morning:

“We should be on a mission and that mission is to be who God intended us to be as we live and work in His world for His glory.” -‘What is My Mission’ (via the Bible app)

Yes, to those of this world, Mondays can be a drag, but as God’s people, we must be joyous in each day that we are blessed to receive and do the work that God intended for us.  We have to have the intention that everything we do is for God and give everything nothing less than what He would approve of.

“And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.” -Psalms 90:17

Start the week off the right way and be ready to be on a mission for God.  Get up.  Plant your feet on the ground and push through anything holding you back.  Devote yourself to God each morning and have a conversation with Him.  Dragging your feet is not an option anymore.  There are too many blessings to be had and souls to be fed for us as believers to continuously push the snooze button.  Just being present and allowing His works to shine through us can make a huge impact on others.

What’s your mission?

Prayer

prayer challenge (1)

Prayer:  “A solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship.” – Merriam Webster Dictionary

Prayer is the way we communicate with God.  He hears our prayers and He hears our cries. He also speaks to us through our prayers.  The bible talks about praying without ceasing.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Praying without ceasing does not mean that you must be on your knees with your eyes closed at all times speaking to God.  It simply means that you are constantly keeping your mind steadfast on Him.  Don’t look at prayer as such a strict or uptight form of speaking to our creator.  Talk to God in actual conversation as you would your father on earth. Involve Him in your everyday practices.  Speak to Him about your struggles, reveal to him your innermost thoughts.   Praying without ceasing should be compared to living and breathing.  The two go hand in hand. If ever worry or fear comes upon you, prayer should be the first thing that comes to mind.  When you are thankful, encouraged, or going through a storm, prayer should be constant.  Prayer can be a small “Thank you Lord,” to a full out session of prayer and praise, eyes closed and body bent. Prayer is a way to show that you put all of your trust in God at all times with all situations.  When you pray you are letting God know that you place your life in His hands and that all is well with Him.  When you start to pray less, you begin to put more trust in yourself which can lead you astray.

Prayer is not only a time to talk, but a time to listen as well. The Lord knows the desires of our hearts. He knows what our needs are.  We must take the time to sit in silence and listen for His voice.

“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.”

-Matthew 6:7

Listening for God’s voice allows Him to reveal to you his vision and desires for you.  He begins to birth a purpose inside of you that you never could have imagined.  He uncovers the blueprint to reach higher heights and deeper depths in your life and the lives of others.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the father of lights, with whom there is no variation of shadow of turning.”

-James 1:17

Favored Freauxs Prayer Challenge

prayer challenge

“I call on you, my God for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.”

– Psalm 17:6

The Lord laid it on my heart not too long ago to start a prayer challenge to encourage others to recondition their prayer lives as well as my own.  To be honest, I was nervous and confused.  I grew up thinking that in order to begin a ministry or to pray for others you have to be someone of a high status or a certain level of authority in the church.  Not so.  God has a purpose for EVERYONE.  If He has called you, answer the call. There is greatness inside of you no matter your position.  When I started Favored Freauxs, my initial prayer was to be a vessel for the Lord and allow Him to use me as He sees fit despite my downfalls.  As He begins to use me, it excites me more than words can explain.

So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”  And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

-Judges 6:15-16

During this challenge, I’d like us to turn the mirror around and work on ourselves.  This walk with God is personal.  It’s not about your attendance every Sunday at church  or how many bible verses you have memorized.  This walk is about your personal relationship with Him.  It’s about how we live our lives outside of those four walls.  We have to make ourselves accountable for our own souls.  There’s no plus one for where we’re trying to go.  I’d like us to use this challenge to allow God to take over completely.  Lets give Him full access holding nothing back.  Allow Him to create in us a new creature, a clean heart, and fill us with His undying love, grace, and mercy.

When it comes to my prayer life, I personally feel like I can  do better in this area.  Not only that, but the way I pray needs to change.  I desire to have a prayer life that does not cease.  I also have the desire to not only pray continuously but to pray in the spirit….yes, there is a difference.  I desire to intercede for others.  My life is not perfect and neither am I.  I want to continue to learn to forgive others and forgive myself for the things of the past.

What are your desires for yourself spiritually?  What are you believing God for in your life?  Are you dealing with hurt, pain, unforgiveness, sin, or bitterness?  Do you have health issues that seem unbearable?  Are you battling with depression, suicidal thoughts, lust?  Have you lost a loved one and feel alone?  PRAY! Cry out to the Lord.  Cast ALL of your cares on Him, not just a few.  Leave your problems and issues with Him.  Don’t take them back.  Empty yourself in the Lord and allow Him to do great works in your life.  My prayer for you all is that He softens hardened hearts, comforts hurting souls, and brings you out of darkness and into His light.  I pray that this challenge  changes lives for the better.

Prayer Challenge Guidelines:

  • The prayer challenge will last for a total of 30 days beginning on June 1st and ending on June 30th.

Motivation Monday- Col 3:23

Happy Monday! (1)“Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men.”- Col 3:23

Hey there freauxs!  Happy Monday.

As we begin a brand new week, let us step into it with a new mindset.  I know that Mondays are not usually anyone’s favorite day of the week, but it is a chance to start a new and put forth great effort to accomplish new goals.  Let’s keep the above scripture in mind and work heartily for the Lord.

Personally,  when I wake up knowing that I am working to please the Lord and no one else, I get an extra boost to get going.  As I open my planner and see what’s ahead of me, it can be overwhelming, but God always makes a way.  I just put my trust in Him to guide my every foot step to get me through the week.

Just remember that there were several people that did not have the opportunity to wake up this morning.  The blessing of life is the biggest blessing of all.  God saw fit to give you the opportunity to praise Him just one more time, to be thankful one more day, and to be a blessing to someone else once more. Treat every task throughout your day as you are doing it for the Lord and see how much of a difference that makes!

Here are a few things I do to keep my mind steadfast on God as I cruise through the week:

  1. Wake up earlier and have a devotion each morning to start your day. You’ll find yourself in such joy and clarity to get through the rest of the day.
  2. Let God speak to you. Stop talking and listen.
  3. Walk according to the purpose He has placed in you.
  4. Play your favorite praise music in the house as you get ready for work and play it in the car on the way to your destination. I even have headphones at work to listen to my worship music while I work.
  5. Even with a busy schedule, make time for prayer throughout the day. It’s mandatory.

By implementing these things in your daily life, you will find that nothing of this world can come in the way of the joy of the Lord.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”- Rom 15:13

Have a blessed and productive week!
